Maple Syrup Muffins |

2 cups flour |
1/4 cup sugar |

3 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
|
1/4 cup butter |
1 egg |
|
1/2 cup milk |
1/2 cup Forty to One Cooking Syrup |
|
Preheat oven 400 degrees |
Variation: Add 1/2 cup chopped nuts |
|
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl. Cut in butter until well blended. Beat egg, milk, and maple syrup. Stir into dry ingredients just until blended. Do not over beat. |
Fill greased or paper-lined muffin tins 2/3 full and bake 20 minutes. |
