Maple-Apple

Pudding Cake

1 cup flour

1/3 cup milk

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

2 cups apple slices

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 Tablespoon sugar

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 teaspoon each cinnamon and ginger

1/2 cup sugar

1 cup apple cider

1 egg beaten

1 cup Grade B Forty to One Cooking Syrup

Heat over 350, Combine flour, baking powder, and salt, set aside.  Cream butter and sugar in medium bowl.  Beat in egg.  Stir in flour mixture, alternating with milk.

Place apples in a 2 quart casserole, sprinkle sugar, cinnamon, and ginger and toss.

Pour batter over apples making sure all apple are covered. Heat apple cider and syrup to boiling, stirring often. Pour over batter.

Bake 35-45 minutes. 

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
